What you’ll find there…

Lovely Heather Farm is a welcoming place. Specifically designed to be dog-friendly, it features 25 hectares of attractive meadows and wetlands along the River Bourne. Since officially opening to the public in January 2016, it has grown in popularity to become a sociable and friendly place to take a stroll or exercise your four-legged friend. In hot weather, the river is a real bonus, with the ford proving a much appreciated cooling off spot! And in less ideal conditions, there’s even a dog wash! Spoil your pooch with a warm water shampoo wash, followed by a conditioner rinse and finally a warm blow-dry finish. £7 for 10 minutes (contactless payment).

As you head out from the car park, look out over the Heather Farm Wetland area. The site of a former mushroom factory and it’s been cleverly landscaped to create a haven for wildlife (no dogs in the wetland area please).

Don’t leave without trying the goodies at the Heather Farm Café. Dog-friendly and with toilet facilities.

Update September 2023: Horsell Common Preservation Society (HCPS) have waymarked a circular 4 mile route from Heather Farm, across Horsell Common to McLaren Park. Carefully planned to avoid fragile areas of heathland where rare heathland birds are nesting on the ground. HCPS are running two free guided walks to discover the new route. Friday 15th September and Friday 13th October 2023. Meet 10am by the information board at Heather Farm car park. Everyone welcome, just turn up.
