Chobham Great Camp Guided Walk

31st July 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

FREE HISTORY WALK!

Join the Chobham Commons Preservation Committee on a free guided walk. See the terrain where the Chobham Common Great Camp was held in 1853 and Queen Victoria reviewed the troops. Visit a possible location for the famed Chobham Treacle Mine and appreciate how the heathland has altered over the last 200 years.

FIND US: The walk will start from Chobham Place Woods, on Valley End Road. See map.

FREE, but donations to the Preservation Committee welcome. Suitable for everyone able to comfortably walk on heathland tracks for around three miles, with a steep hill at one point. Families with school-age children. Not suitable for pushchairs or mobility scooters. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome.

BOOKING REQUIRED: Book your place by emailing thepreservation@btinternet.com or by sending a message via the Chobham Commons Preservation Committee Facebook page.
