What you’ll find there…

Keep an eye out for birds of prey overhead, and in the spring listen out for the beautiful song of the Skylark! Two beautiful sculptures by Kerry Lemon celebrate the Skylarks that nest here during the spring and summer.

With heaps of space and good paths, Peacock Meadows is the ideal spot for dog walks, picnics and jogging. Those looking to explore their artistic side will find three posts with engravings of plants and animals to look out for. Why not take the kids for a spot of brass rubbing?

Bracknell Forest Council have installed information boards that explain the history of the place and the wildlife you’ll find here. For example, the name has a long history dating back to 1625 and the first tenant farmer, John Peacock!

Crossing over Peacock Lane will take you to another section of the park, the north meadow and Big Wood, where you can stroll through a meadow and into the neighbouring ancient woodland. This is a separately fenced area, and less visited than the main meadow, so it’s worth seeking out. Visit the woodland here in late April for a beautiful display of Bluebells.

Note: Skylarks nest on the ground in the meadows from March to August, so it’s important to keep to the paths during this period. Dog walkers should be aware that cattle may be grazing.
