Year of Green Action 2019

2019 is the Year of Green Action – A whole year of connecting people with nature and highlighting how we all can take action to improve our environment – and here at the Thames Basin Heaths Partnership we would love to help you get connecting with, protecting and enhancing your local greenspaces.

On this page, you will find an exciting array of organised events designed to get you out on your local greenspaces, opportunities to volunteer with our partners and there will also be regular blogs to help you get the most out of your green action year. Follow this link for the first one, and the second can be found here.

There are opportunities to learn about birds, dragonflies and plants, join in with group dog walks, help keep your local area tidy, reap the wellbeing benefits of being outside, use bat detectors, contribute to science, count butterflies, go for a wander through a wildflower meadow or alongside (or in!) a river, paint a landscape and join in with some practical conservation work. Learn to love your local greenspace and help to keep it a great place for nature!

The list is endless… Well, nearly endless… So, what are you waiting for?

If, however, you’d rather go on a self-propelled journey of nature discovery, click here for a list of more than sixty places across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire to go for a wander.
