*Update October 27th 2021: We’ve had a site meeting with the Franklands Park manager and feel confident that recent maintenance issues are being resolved. Contractors are currently strimming the circular walking route, cutting brambles right back to improve access. This will be done every year at the end of October, with an interim tidy-up in March.
The walk is a pleasant stroll through woodland and meadows, winding its way around the perimeter of the Franklands Park housing development. The circular walk is marked with white arrows on green discs and goes clockwise around the housing development. If starting your walk on Strawberry Fields, you’ll pick up the route if you enter through the offset metal barriers (pictured), opposite Kemble Avenue.
Near the Wycliffe Avenue entrance, you’ll find a well equipped play area, complete with zip wire and adventure climbing frame. There’s also a range of outdoor fitness equipment, laid out around a surfaced track.
