Find the free car park on Hyde End Lane (close to junction with Church Lane), Ryeish Green, nearest postcode RG7 1EP. Grid reference SU 71895 67919. What3Words: tower.lucky.appear. May be closed overnight, please refer to signage displayed at the entrance.

What you’ll find there…

A meadow walk sharing a car park with May’s Farm Meadows at Hyde End Lane. The car park and the land adjacent to it are managed by the University of Reading, and although there’s no sign (at the time of writing) to say this area is called The Ridge, that’s what it’s been named. It links directly with May’s Farm Meadows managed by Wokingham Borough Council and you can extend your walk even further by walking all the way to Langley Mead, making an interesting 8.8km circular route with only one busy road to cross.

Note: Dog walkers may like to know that the area is sometimes grazed. There are no streams or ponds and limited shade.
