What you’ll find there…
When Broadmoor Hospital was built in the mid-nineteenth century, much of the surrounding ancient heathland was converted to parkland and used as a setting for therapeutic walks for patients. The distinctive raised wooded knolls you see here today, are an echo of this historic landscape, now a tranquil spot for a pleasant walk. When we visited in December 2018 the gorse was in flower, giving the meadows a heathland feel. We felt quite at home!
