Where you’ll find it…
Find the free car park on Kitsmead Lane, Chertsey, nearest postcode KT16 0EF. Grid reference SU 99617 65611. Note that there are two branches to Kitsmead Lane and the postcode may not take you to the exact spot. If you’ve driven up and down Kitsmead Lane and haven’t come across the obvious car park, head back towards Longcross Road. Turn left into Longcross Road and almost immediately left again. Pass a few large houses, and you’ll find the car park on your right.
What you’ll find there…
An impressive new greenspace for 2018. An information board in the new car park displays a clear map, showing the choice of routes, starting with a short loop on a well finished path. This part is secured by post and rail fencing and could make the perfect place for a puppy’s first off-lead experience.
If you branch out from the surfaced path, you can make the loop around neighbouring fields. On a visit in November 2018 this bit wasn’t signposted yet, but there was a fairly well trodden path over a bridge and around a large field.
The meadow boundary already has many fine mature trees. And as newly planted trees mature, and the wildflower meadow develops, we’re sure this new space will become a lovely place to visit, with decent length walks.
