Where you’ll find it…
Find the free temporary car park off the A30 London Road, Hook RG27 9EH. SU 73459 54780. If heading into Hook from Hartley Wintney, turn right into the new housing estate at the roadworks, just after the Crooked Billet pub. Turn almost immediately right again towards Spirals Hair Salon and “SANG parking”. Park in the temporary car parking area next to Spirals Hair Salon. There are signs from here to guide you to the meadows, look for green signage to “SANG PEDESTRIAN ROUTE”.
What you’ll find there…
Our Project Manager, Ann, made her first visit at the end of July 2019 and was delighted to find these tucked away meadows bustling with insect and bird life. A tranquil walk along the banks of the crystal clear River Whitewater was a welcome distraction during her busy week and the perfect place for her young dog Murphy. Fenced, away from busy roads and with opportunities for a cooling dip in the river. We hope you enjoy following in Ann’s footsteps to discover this little gem.
Ann’s tip for making the most of your visit is to head back on yourself, to the right, to explore the area behind the Crooked Billet pub or head straight on through the gate into the main meadows. It’s well worth exploring.
At the time of writing (August 2019) there is a temporary car park and a fenced route along the side of a building site to get to the meadows. The permanent car park will eventually be at the end of this path and we’ll update this page as soon as we hear it’s open.
