FREE ENTOMOLOGY WALK!

An opportunity to see some of the insects that make heathland such a special habitat. The Horsell Common Sand Pit is a hot spot for solitary bees and wasps, including the Bee Wolf and the Green-eyed Flower Bee.

The famous Sand Pit, notorious as the site of a Martian invasion in H G Wells’s War of the Worlds, is now home to 1000s of Bee Wolves! The shallow bowl makes it a very special habitat for these and other amazing creatures.

Leisurely walk lead by Horsell Common Preservation Society trustee, entomologist Andrew Halstead.

FIND US: The walk will start at 2pm from Sandy Track Car Park, Horsell Common. See map. What3words: anyway.rubble.double.

FREE. Suitable for all. Some rough ground. No dogs please.

TO BOOK YOUR PLACE: Please email: rupert.millican@horsellcommon.org.uk. (Fully booked)
