Where you’ll find it…
Find plenty of space to park at the end of Kennels Lane, Farnborough, nearest postcode GU14 0LL. Grid reference SU 84314 54508. There’s one marked disabled parking space, right beside the entrance to the woodland, and as of summer 2019, there’s a large free car park at the entrance to Southwood Country Park, just next door.
What you’ll find there…
Blackwater Valley Countryside do a fine job of maintaining this beautifully laid out woodland with surfaced level paths, signed trails and wonderful, carved information boards. They also ‘invest’ in the woodland’s future with lots of work to conserve its history and wildlife. If you fancy finding out more, the Southwood Woodland Improvement Group get together on the fourth Sunday of every month at 10:30am. Meet at the Kennels Lane entrance and see what’s going on. All welcome. Tools and training provided.
If you just want to visit occasionally, our tip is to visit this much-loved woodland around the end of April, when the bluebells and other woodland flowers are at their best.
