Heathland Cricket World Cup – MATCH DAY 2

Field cricket, credit: Back from the Brink

England got their tournament off to a flying start at the Oval with a win against South Africa! Our field cricket may not be able to fly – but it can walk 100m in a day!

Representing Pakistan – The Predatory Bush Cricket

Today’s opponent is Pakistan, and the equally formidable predatory bush cricket represents them. It’s one of the largest species of Orthoptera (grasshoppers and crickets), at 12 cm body length. It’s a wide ranging species and can be found from the Eastern Mediterranean to China!
